The Queensland Curtis LNG (QCLNG) project is located on Curtis Island, Gladstone, in Queensland, Australia, and was developed by QGC. The project area starts from Surat Basin in Southern Queensland, extends to Gladstone and Curtis Island, and is spread over 500km.
The project involves conversion of coal seam gas (CSG) reserves into LNG, the first of its kind in the world. It also includes expansion of exploration and development of CSG reserves in southern and central Queensland.
The CGS is transported via a 340km underground pipeline network to Gladstone. The gas is then transformed into LNG at the LNG plant on Curtis Island. The CSG is converted into LNG and supplied to QGC.
M-BIM Vircon assisted with the engineering and design of the Type L (horizontal) and Type M (vertical) piping skids for wellhead works within the QCLNG project. Design included the full multi-disciplined 3D modeling, piping stress analysis, structural analysis, lifting studies, and the production of design drawings, piping isometrics and shop detail drawings. Approximately 450 skids were fabricated in China and design-focused to eliminate repeated items where possible.
DBMV provided the complete integrated engineering, design and detailing services in house. The concept of delivering the front end engineering all the way through to fabrication deliverables was not something typically completed in 2014 and is still a rarity to this day.
It is our unique combination of experience, expertise and technology that turns complex data into intelligent and context rich models.
